Volkswagen T1 Transporter/Bus (double door panel van), year 1961. Chassis (VIN) number 642421. Red exterior colour, red interior with grey vinyl seat upholstery and grey door cards. This super original and very attractive VW T1 panel van was sold new in Colorado, USA. In 2017 the current owner the car imported the car from Colorado (USA) to the Netherlands. This VW T1 Transporter project car is in a driving condition (the mechanicals were largely refurbished – see photos). The last US owner has done quite a bit of work to the bus. Amongst others work was done to the brakes, the suspension, and the electrical wiring. The motor is a 1500 H-code unit. The bus has a long local Colorado history. It was a shop bus in Fort Collins, Colorado from 1969-1975. Then it was a shop bus in Denver, Colorado during the 1980's.  It was then owned by the owner of the oldest local pub in Fort Collins until 2013 when he passed away.  It sat until 2016 until the last US owner purchased it and put it back on the road. The chassis beams are in a solid shape. The bodywork shows moderate rust in the lower parts of the body and some dents on the left side and the left side of the roof. This VW T1 Transporter is a relatively simple restoration project. The car comes complete with most of the parts needed for the restoration (sheet metal for sills and floor, front windscreen etc. see photos).
